  1. Authentic information. Most tourists are unaware of the genuine ayurveda treatment centres of kerala. They mostly rely on the hotels and resorts offering massage centres and miss the true essence and effectiveness of Ayurvedic healing. The post will serve a starting point to a lot of seekers of ayurveda.

  2. The main revenue of state of Kerala apart from expatriate foreign transfers is tourism. And due to competition from Srilanka, Thailand, Maldives, Bali, Malaysia, Singapore etc offering cheaper alternatives, the Kerala Tourism industry is in dire straits. The only constant USP attracting foreign guests year round is Ayurveda. We need to promote the genuine Ayurveda centres more and standardise the service offered by independent massage centres and those in hotels and resorts. If massage centres are allowed to use the name of Ayurveda and not controlled, very soon Ayurveda will be synonymous with ‘pleasure massage’ places like those in Thailand and else where. And Kerala will lose its biggest USP. Hope this message reaches someone who can take solid decisions in this regard.

  3. Found this review when searching for best Ayurvedic treatment centre in kerala. I have been to different ayurveda resorts and massage centres in kerala couple of times. Wanted to visit a truly genuine Ayurvedic hospital this time. This list looks the real deal. Centres that have been there for at least 50 years! It’s really hard for a foreigner to find the best centres. The genuine hospitals are not marketing or publicising their services. Makes it so much harder to find them. Thanks for the valuable information provided. Cheers!

  4. Thanks for the recommendation. I wouldn’t have known these centers, if not for this article. Didnt know such genuine service oriented institutions still exist in today’s world driven by commercialism. Being a student of Ayurveda from United States, I wanted to visit and see for myself how the art is being practiced in its original home. What an inspiring journey has it been. I have been fully converted now into a disciple of Ayurveda. I must say it wouldnt been the case had I not found this blog and your recommendations. I was at several other hospitals in addition to the ones you recommended here. The difference was so obvious. While most of the popularly known centres [popular atleast in the west], were brilliantly marketed and packaged ayurveda, but in its diluted form to please the foreigners. It’s so far from the real world of ayurvedic healing that brings unbelievable results in terms of cure and success even with terminal and incurable illnesses. One has to truly see it to believe the remarkable results. Thanks again.

    1. @MARIE,
I am looking for a genuinely authentic Ayurvedic treatment for myself. Since you have been to quite a few of the treatment centres, which ones would you recommend as being authentic? I am looking for treatments in Arthritis, Asthma and Psoriasis.
      Your reply is much appreciated.

      Regards

      1. Hi, I would say 9 out of 10 centres are authentic in a way, as they all have a qualified ayurveda doctor and they use medicines from recognized manufacturers. In terms of patient feedback, Samajam and Pankajakasthuri patients reported most positive results in asthma cases. In Psoriasis Dhathri and Kottakkal patients reported best outcome. In terms of arthritis Ayurmana and Vaidyaratnam patients gave the best feedback. However this doesnt mean these centres or those which are mentioned in this blog are the only good hospitals for these conditions. This inference is purely based on numbers and the feed back from the patients whom I came across. It might had perhaps been different if a different set of patients were interviewed.

Apart from my reasoning and assumption, the centres listed by this blog, are definite choices, recognized the most authentic Ayurveda hospitals in the world. And I am pretty sure they can offer the best ayurvedic treatment available for your ailments.
